Local Councils are generally very supportive of creative endeavours to improve the amenity of the area, however, different Councils have different requirements about mosaics on Stobie poles. Once you have permission from SAPN, you must find out about the guidlines in your Council area before you proceed.
Supportive Councils provide guidelines, galleries, or approval processes for Stobie pole art and mosaics. While painting is widely accepted, mosaics are slightly more complex due to weight and maintenance considerations. Some of the Councils have dedicated pages on their websites which cover their requirements for approval for Stobie pole art.
Some examples include:

Be sure to check your local Council's requirements before beginning your project!
